Our goal is to make your pet’s stay safe, comfortable, and worry-free. Please review the requirements below before your visit.

1. Established Care & Pre-Boarding Visit

  • A visit with one of our veterinarians or a Fear Free–certified technician is required before your pet’s first boarding stay.

  • This helps us understand your pet’s temperament and place them in the most appropriate, comfortable space.

2. Required Vaccinations

To protect every guest, pets must be current (not overdue before or during their stay).

Dogs: DHPP, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Canine Influenza, Rabies
Cats: FVRCP, Rabies

Please have vaccination records available at or before check-in.

3. Health Screening & Parasite Prevention

  • Dogs: Current heartworm & tick screen

  • All pets: Negative fecal exam within the last 6 months

  • All pets: On consistent, year-round prevention for fleas, ticks, and (for dogs) heartworm

    • Please note the date and product/brand of the most recent dose at check-in.

    • If a dose is overdue, we will administer a dose and add it to your invoice.

4. Check-In & Check-Out Information

We schedule arrivals and departures to keep the kennel calm and organized. Please allow 10–30 minutes for check-in so we can review health status, belongings, and comfort preferences.

  • Check-in: 2:40–4:00 p.m. (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) • 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (Sat)

  • Check-out: 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) • 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (Sat)

  • No check-ins or check-outs on Wednesdays or Sundays.

  • Boarding intakes are scheduled for 40 minutes to ensure a smooth, low-stress process.

5. Food & Treats (Required Meal Baggies)

To keep mealtimes accurate and stress-free, food baggies must be prepared for each meal your pet will receive while boarded.

Each baggie must include:

  • Pet’s name (first name & last initial, or full name)

  • Meal time (AM, PM, or afternoon)

  • Pre-measured portion sealed in a sandwich- or quart-sized bag

Please place all meal baggies in a labeled container/tub for transport.
Refrigeration is very limited. Only bring items that require minimal cold storage unless medically necessary.
If food runs out, we’ll provide an in-house diet and add the cost to your invoice.

6. Medications & Supplements

  • Prescription medications must be in their original prescription packaging with a readable label showing: patient name, drug name, concentration, and dosing directions.

  • Supplements / OTC items must be in original packaging or a clearly labeled baggie, with written directions for use.

  • Our team administers all medications/supplements as directed.

7.  Personal Items & Storage

  • You’re welcome to bring a familiar bed/blanket and a couple of favorite toys/chews.

  • We rinse and air-dry bedding if soiled (no machine washing).

  • For safety and organization, all items except bedding are stored in Brookeside-provided tubs:
