Honoring the Past
Brookeside Veterinary Hospital (BVH) was established over 40 years ago by the late Dr. Beverly Frommert. Her vision was to transform a small rural building into a full-service veterinary facility offering advanced medical care with a personal touch. Over the decades, Brookeside has provided trusted medical and wellness care, grooming, and boarding to pets across the greater Ann Arbor area.
What has always set Brookeside apart is its exceptional, dedicated team, many of whom have been with the hospital for over 20 years and are continuing forward into this exciting new chapter.
Building on the Present
On April 9, 2025, Dr. Cynthia Barker became the new owner of Brookeside. With a background in emergency medicine, practice ownership, and wellness care, Dr. Barker brings both expertise and heartfelt leadership. Her vision is to grow Brookeside as a rural clinic with home-like charm, while providing advanced, compassionate care in a modern, updated facility.
Looking Ahead
Dr. Barker is committed to enhancing both the medical services and the environment at BVH. Her plans include upgrading diagnostic capabilities, improving treatment options, and remodeling the hospital interior for improved comfort, workflow, and patient care.
A more open layout will allow the veterinary team to better observe hospitalized pets, support collaboration, and continue delivering the high standard of care Brookeside is known for.
